Galway U21 B Final 16/04/2011 Cappataggle 1-19 Leitrim/Kilnadeema 0-13
It was a close encounter for much of the game with little seperating the teams. Cappataggle opened the scoring with a point from corner forward Emmett Malone. Galway U21 Semi-Final 13/02/2010 Cappataggle 1-14 Loughrea 1-12
The semi final of the 2009 U21 Championship took place between Cappataggle and Loughrea.
There had been a lot of training and preparation put in, in the run up to the game. The game started at great pace and Cappy’s first score came from a long range free from goalkeeper James Skehill. All-Ireland Semi Final 2008 Cappataggle 2-13 Kilmessan 0-17
Super sub David Byrnes was the hero for Cappataggle as he struck a late goal to send through to the All-Ireland intermediate hurling championship final.
Byrnes scooped home the decisive goal in the final minute of extra-time after Kilmessan goalkeeper Mark Brennan could only manage to parry a rasping shot from Daniel Loughnane.
Byrnes' goal edged Cappataggle in front and they secured victory moments later when Alan Dolan shot his tenth point of the match. It was rough justice on a Kilmessan side who were within touching distance of victory at Woodmount in Co. Roscommon at the end of normal time only to be denied by an equalising point from Dolan in the third minute of stoppage time. [read on]
